These paintings were created after I had a basal cell carcinoma cut out of my forehead on Feb 29th this year. The cancer was 30mm x 40mm x 5mm and left 15 external stitches with a massive scar! Thankfully it's healing well as is my self esteem ;)

- I am a 24 year old South Brisbane based artist and Biology teacher, currently completing my diploma of visual arts at Southbank Institute of technology. I love oil painting and drawing, and I'm starting to explore etching and other printmaking techniques which is really exciting. I have always loved portraiture and life drawing, but over the last two years my work has become inspired by more scientific subject matter, particularly from my university textbooks, good old Campbell Biology.I have recently began work on marine life, after buying a book on macro photography. I love to create abstract images based on fish eyes, details of fins, scales etc.
